Know The Truth – How Can We Have Unity?

This question is easily answered when one appeals to the Word of God. The Holy Spirit said, “I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.” Ephesians 4:1-3. As one who is searching to know God’s Word, we are to be diligent to keep the “unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.” The Holy Spirit wrote, “But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.” Romans 6:17. It is easy to conclude from these passages that all would be united if they believed and submitted, from the heart, to the “form of doctrine” that has been delivered by the Godhead; the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. John 16:13.
The Holy Spirit wrote, “There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling…For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and He is the saviour of the body…And hath put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be the head over all things to the church which is His body….” Ephesians 4:4; 5:23; 1:22 23.

There are those who preach that you can be saved outside the “one body” (the Lord’s church) of which Jesus is the Savior! Others teach that you can join the church of your choice! Jesus is the savior of the “one body” which is the church Jesus built. Matthew 16:18; Acts 20:28. There is one Lord, and there is one church! “There is one body, one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling.” Ephesians 4:5. Jesus said, “And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?” Luke 6:46. Is Jesus the Lord of your life? If so, why refuse to obey His teachings? If your church is following a creed book or a catechism, they are rejecting the Lord’s teachings. Simple question: If you want to be saved, how many choices of Lords and churches do you have?

Again, in Ephesians 4:4, the Holy Spirit says there is “one faith.” He also tells us that this “one faith” comes “by hearing the word of God.” Romans 10:17. Where in the Word of God do you find multiplicity plans of salvation, ways to worship God, and churches? Can you give the book, chapter, and verses for them? Why is it that there are many different faiths today? The Holy Spirit said that there is “one faith.”
Just as there is one Lord and one faith, there is only one baptism. The one baptism in the Bible is a burial (immersion, not sprinkling or pouring). The Bible says, “One Lord, one faith, one baptism.” Ephesians 4:5. “And ye are complete in Him, which is the head of all principality and power: In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: Buried with Him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with Him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised Him from the dead.” Colossians 2:10-12. For one to become a Christian he or she must believe, Mark 16:16, repent, Acts 2:38, confess Christ, Acts 8:37, before being buried in the watery grave of baptism. For example, see Acts 8:26-39 and Romans 6:3-11.
