Know The Truth – Man’s Greatest Problem
“Then said Jesus again unto them, I go my way, and ye shall seek me, and shall die in your sins: whither I go, ye cannot come. Then said the Jews, Will he kill himself? because he saith, Whither I go, ye cannot come. And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world. I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.” John 8:21-24. A person who dies in sin is separated from God. See Isaiah 59:1, 2. One who dies in sin will not go to heaven! Man’s greatest problem is sin! The Holy Spirit wrote, “What then? Are we better than they? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin.” “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:9, 23. The Holy Spirit further states, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23. Sin will affect our eternal destiny!
Sin is simply breaking the law of God. The Holy Spirit stated, “Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.” 1 John 3:4. “Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committed sin is the servant of sin.” John 8:34. A person who submits to, commits and practices sin becomes a slave to sin. Lawlessness is sin. Sin is something we do, not inherit! It is not possible to sin without breaking the law of God. In Genesis 2:15-17; 3:5 God commanded man not to eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Eve was tempted by the lust of the flesh (good for food), lust of the eye (delight to the eye), and pride of life (makes one wise). Did Adam inherit Eve’s sin? Man sinned by doing what he was commanded not to do.
Sin is not inherited, it is breaking God’s law. We sin the same way today according to 1 John 2:15-16. “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.” The Holy Spirit stated, “Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.” Ezekiel 18:4, cf. verses 20-24. Also, in 1 John 3:4, “Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.” Each person is responsible for his or her own sins. God does not hold us responsible for the sins of our father. Sin is not passed on from one generation to another. If it is then it would mean that babies being born are lost by inheriting
