Know The Truth – Is Satan Real?

Do YOU believe that the devil is alive/real? The Word of God says, “But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.” James 4:6-10. It also says, “Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.” 1 Peter 5:6-8. Yes, the devil is alive/real and is actively seeking to keep you from following Jesus. You can resist the devil if you submit to God’s commands.

Satan was alive/real to Jesus. The devil tempted Jesus three times. “And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God…. And [the devil] saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. Again, the devil…saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.” Matthew 4:3-10.

A Christian can become unfaithful (lost) as a result of going back into the world. The Word of God teaches that the Christian going back into the world is like a pig going back to a mud hole or a dog turning to its own vomit. 2 Peter 2:20-22. What all should see is that Jesus overcame the temptations of the devil by using the Word of God. Jesus said three times, “It is written.” The Bible will equip a Christian for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:14-17. Some folks misuse, abuse and distort the Word of God to their own destruction. 2 Peter 3:16-18. The Bible has the same power for us today to overcome Satan as it did for Jesus when Satan tempted Him. God is light, and sin is darkness. 1 John 1:5-10; 5:13. Walking in the light is the same as living by the Word of God.

Opinions and feelings are not safe guides to eternal life. Eternal life is something that YOU can know! True disciples are known by their love for God and one another. John 13:33-35; 1 John 4:19-21. True disciples bear fruit. John 15:8; Matthew 28:18-20. In the first century, believers were immersed/baptized to have their sins washed away (forgiven). Acts 2:14-42; 8:5-13; 8:30-39; 9:17-18; 22:6-16; 26:12-18; 10:34-48; 16:13-15; 16:25-34; 18:8; 19:1-7. You can know that you have been saved by obeying what Jesus said. Believe, John 8:24; Repent, Luke 13:3; Confess, Matthew 10:32, 33; and be immersed (baptized) Mark 16:16.
